His voice sounds great, actions aside the music part of the performance was tight as fook, he should walk off more often!
The management are also on record saying how they (the band) don't see the point in creating new music (piracy etc.)... in my opinion, if fans want new music that's reason enough. don't expect them to do what their told at all times but this seems like a no brainer. reward the people who've supported you all along the way. the alternative seems to be a further backlash as genuine fans seem to be tired of all the disorganization.
It's a little loose because that song isn't in heavy rotation. Puppets is played every night... that solo is played each night. he can play it better, I've sen him play it better, but you have to be realistic with live performances... there's always going to be a few mistakes, especially when a good portion of the set changes each night
The voice is a muscle, the more you use it, and take care of it the better it will be later in life. There's also going to be natural loss of range with age. If you don't use it... that does not make it stronger.
Love the sunglasses, I think there's a career in journalism here, just waiting to be unleashed upon the universe... That is if the (invisible) metal gods were to favour you.
Not the best song on the album, but the rest of the stuff makes up for it. brilliant album. Dave isn't so great here, But! he was never much of a live singer... great performer... average singer.
I ran out of space in the last one... but, I'm finished. I'm not here to change your mind about Axl Rose, I don't really care one way or the other. And, to have an argument on who is and isn't "bad ass" seems completely ridiculous to me (the original comment was made in jest), so I'm leaving this here, as of right now. later!
I would have taken this guy a little more seriously, if he wasn't wearing that bandanna... There's very few men and women in this world, that can pull off the bandanna look. Entitled to his opinion though, some people don't like active pick-ups... I like them, but I also like passive... there's room for both.
Maybe look up some other things he's done, he sings quite well. This is one of the worst vocal performances I've seen from him. Not being able to sing, and trying to sing a song that's way out of your range, are two separate things. The correct statement would be, "HE CAN'T SING THIS SONG". Also, he plays incredible guitar, so I can forgive him for not being the best singer.
Seems everyones saying the same thing... But they have a point. This guy would sound ten times better if he slowed down, and instead of practicing at 180bpm take it down to 80 and actually play the correct rhythm patterns.
Really can't argue with people like you, The above video is evidence enough. If you don't believe it fine, as I've said a couple of times, It doesn't really matter! I made an observation about his voice and the "Metallica police" swooped in to reprimand me. I'm going to quote myself as I don't think I can put it any better "Of course you're right, Hetfields immune to any and all ailments. From now on i'll scramble the truth just in case I offend people with impaired hearing".
Quite good, the solo was a bit... Meh! though. I would have cut the solo after 4 bars as it really didn't go anywhere after that. cool riff and vocal though.
Why don't you use the soundboard mix? when metallica release live videos from tour stops 'metontour', they set up a camera and synch the soundboard audio, it would be a nice touch. This is good too! but you know what I mean.
The guy on the right just needs to work to a click for a while. He's no terrible or anything like that, but he could sound much better if he played a little less
First the lead came out and he barely knew how to put it back in, then the strap :D "Wimps and posers...leave the hall".
Marty writes catchier solo's, he's probably not as technically proficient but he's a better all rounder in my opinion.
To be honest, it sounds like he's having a great time at the show.... It doesn't sound like he's too cut up about it. not saying he Wasn't, only that he's not exactly the usual grief stricken friend (30yrs together has to account for something and maybe a bit of numbness to the voice). Out of respect for Jeff, he should have probably cut the appearances after receiving the news. But... if thats the way he wants to work through his loss (or whatever it is for him) so be it.
Such a fool, your entitled to an opinion, Unfortunately. Its not really necessary for you to follow GnR now though, if you don't actually like them.
Give it up, they're not going away and people still want to see them and hear new music. You may not like them and thats fine, but you really don't have to moan to fans about how much you dislike them. If you're a fan and you say "his voice was off here, but I still like the band and the music" thats just fine but talking about weight? come on!
