Girl Tech Collective is a program for young women of color in New Mexico. This year- long program includes media justice training, reproductive justice training, and media production training. The participants learn media literacy skills by deconstructing media messages and focusing on reproductive justice issues such as comprehensive sex education, violence prevention, healthcare access, immigration justice, environmental justice, and economic justice. They also learn how to conduct interviews, operate cameras and microphones, and edit video. Throughout the course of the program year, the Girl Tech participants plan, produce, and edit a video on a Reproductive Justice topic that resonates with them.
