Matthew rose in the House today to speak to his Bill, the Climate Change Accountability Act, which proposes national emissions reduction targets that represent Canada’s fair share of the global effort to reduce GHG emissions. It would put in place accountability mechanisms to ensure the targets are met.
This Bill is a response to parent’s worried about their kid’s future. There is opportunity embedded in this Bill on Climate change and Canadians are looking for opportunity.
As the NDP’s Urban Affairs Critic and Infrastructure Critic, he also took the opportunity to talk about the unique opportunity cities present in mitigating climate change and reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions.
