This is a sound sketch of an ambient guitar idea I had. It was recorded live in a single take (no overdubs or anything, thanks to the magic of looping pedals).
Pedals and their settings (mostly for my own reference in case I want to expand this idea on an album later):
- Walrus Audio Mayflower: Level @ noon, Gain @ 8, Treble and Bass @ 1:30
- Strymon El Capistan: Time @ noon, Mix @ 1:30, Tape Age @ max, Wow @ max, Repeats @ noon
- Strymon Flint: Verb Mix @ 1:30, Verb Color @ 3, Verb Decay @ 1:30, 80's mode; Trem Intensity @ 3, Trem Speed @ 3, '63 tube mode
- Boomerang III Phrase Sampler: Sync mode, all loop volumes @ 7 (unity), Yellow Tap @ Stack, Green Tap @ Reverse
Performance notes (again, for my own use):
El Cap is used for first loop. Flint Verb and Trem used for loops two and three. El Cap, Flint Verb and Trem all used for bit of super simple noodling once all loops in place. Roll up El Cap Repeats until oscillating, manage level with Mix knob. Turn first loop reverse, then third loop, then finally second loop. Cut first loop, roll up El Cap Mix (still oscillating), cut second loop. Kick first loop back in, cut third loop, then roll back El Cap Repeats until no longer oscillating and cut remaining loop at the same time.
