Triftbrücke - 170 metres long and 100 metres high suspension bridge next to the Trift glacier.
In 2015 we went for a hike to the Trift bridge in the Swiss Alps. The landscape here is very powerful and we actually felt rather small. The valley climbs far up from the river and the cool breeze and clouds coming down from what's left of the Trift glacier. Not to many years ago you could walk on the glacier where the bridge is today. Nowadays the glacier has retracted to a small fragment of its former size. At a place like this it's easy to grasp the consequences of global warming. Even though it's diminishing it still affects the local weather. The wind had gale force when it rushed down over the lake and valley so only one of us was brave enough to cross the bridge. Liam could ensure that the adrenaline kick was worth it!
