This is a small showcase on some of the newer updates to the game engine. Progress was halted due to a fried computer for nearly 2 years. Thanks to a kindly donation of Kevin R. of a motherboard, memory & processor I have been able to get back to work on it, THANKS a lot for that. Also I was unable to show the NPC follower updates due to screwing up the OpenAL system somewhere down the line, the NPC has voiced lines but sound isn't working. This includes all audio so it's pretty high on the fix list. Lip sync is also high on the planned list now that the player can have followers (limited only by hardware rendering). This is due to the NPC's now having proper face rigs since MakeHuman is the main character creation program (default skeleton, 163 bones including face bones). If I missed any credits in the video let me know in the comments. For those wondering, this engine is being developed to cover what I thought Freelancer should have become. Better trading, construction, mining, ship customization, planetary surfaces, object interaction, huge multiplayer interaction using proper async methods and more. Many of the DSE features were not shown in this video, if you have a suggestion of what you would like from this completely programmable engine, let me know in the comments.
