On the 6th December 2013 Oli Campion’s daughter Shayla was born nearly 2 months early and spent the first couple of months of her life in the Neo Natal Unit of Birmingham City Hospital. During this difficult time Oli’s Grandmother passed away so he decided to write a song in her memory for his daughter. Thanks to the hard work and loving care of the Birmingham hospital Shayla was soon well enough to return home for the first time. When Shayla reached 6 months old Oli decided it was time to share his song online.
When Steve Bennett of the Genuine Gemstone Company heard the song and their story, he asked Oli if he would like to work on an album that they could sell and donate the profits to the Neonatal Unit that saved Shayla’s life. That album is “Blue, Grey and Green” and is now available to buy from Equal World. The album features 8 original tracks written and performed by Oli, as well as 2 bonus tracks from his band Talking Odd.
This is the track that started it all.
