  • Alan Booth, and the 'Brotherhood of Walkers' Play all

A playlist featuring content focused on the life and times of the late Alan Booth, travel writer and long-distance walker, as well as other known and not-so-well known Japan walkers.

The phrase "Brotherhood of Walkers" was coined by Alan's good friend, Tim Harris, during a speech he gave at the Foreign Correspondents Club of Japan in 2019, in what I took to be a moment of astonishment and/or epiphany at the large number of Alan's fans he'd recently met who had in some form or another been inspired by Alan's work to walk long distances in Japan and elsewhere.

He, along with another friend of Alan's, Stuart Varnam-Atkin, very kindly approved the release of a great deal of exclusive and never-before seen source material, such as Albion-za performances given by Alan and Tim in the 1980's. All thanks and kudos go to them. (These videos and others will be provided during the late spring and summer of 2019... stay tuned!)
