I compiled roughly 9 weeks worth of daily videos and time lapses and a few hundred photos I was able to capture on my iPhone 7 and Nikon DSLR of the conversion process of my mom's 2008 Dodge Sprinter 2500 into a mobile off-grid home on wheels. The FCPX project file was over 181GB and it took me almost two and a half months to edit together into something that hopefully helps some of you out there in the conversion process! I didn’t have very good video for in depth explanation videos, so I compressed it all together into a 26 minute overview. It’s fast paced but I didn't want a 45 minute video either.
I’ve learned so much over the build about myself, my family, and in general converting a van to live in. I’ve also learned a ton about shooting video and editing using Final Cut Pro. This is my first attempt at editing anything longer than 15 second Instagram clips and dealing with horizontal video at all! I’m interested in hearing your constructive comments and suggestions for future videos. I promise I’ll plan for YouTube next time, and it won't go quite so fast :)
If you like the video please give it a thumbs up and if you didn’t like it, take your frustrations out by smashing that thumbs up button harder and if you’re into clicking things, click that Subscribe button as well and make sure you’re notified when I post my next video.
Sorry, we can't be friends on Facebook but I’m required to have one for Instagram Business. If Facebook is your thing you can follow me at: Facebook: http://facebook.com/joshgjo..., just know I'm not active.
