I was in northern Ontario Canada, it was a balmy -44 Centigrade out. While I was there, I discovered there were snowmobile police officers - there's something your high school guidance counselor never mentioned.
Its quite interesting to me that I never realized there were police operating on snowmobiles. I guess I thought of the open snowy fields as no-man lands, ruled by land pirates gliding across the snow on machines that were one part horse, one part pure excitement.
To these snow cops, patrolling this landscape must be like small town sheriffs of a by gone era. Like Wyatt Earp in Tombstone or Luke Skywalker on those motorcycle things when he was in the Ewok movie.
