Quintet of Venice, The Pile has been active since 1970 with the creation of an album and three singles. The drummer Rebeschini Marino had played in the earliest formation of Orme. The group was produced and followed by the famous singer of the '60s Pino Donaggio, who was also the composer of most of their songs. The album, eight tracks run for about 34 minutes, contains a progressive rather light, based on a delicate organ and melodic vocals that give the sound of the group a distinct footprint "sixties". The disc also contained a remake of Schubert's Ave Maria. Another reincarnation of the Heap, still active, is that including Roberto Fagotto ,Luciano Zanardo, and Viola Alessandro (keyboards and vocals), William Lorenzon (vocals), Fabio Runello (guitar) and Matteo Regazzo (drums).
