Hot off the press from Grum dropping this in as 'Special Delivery' for BBC Radio 1's Annie Mac, here is a clip of Grum's latest single, 'Straight To Your Heart.'
Having already released five heavily Radio 1 supported singles this year (three of which have hit the Beatport top 100) delivering an incredible journey of an Radio 1 Essential Mix in April, and remixing some of the worlds biggest artists (including Secondcity, Jax Jones, Above & Beyond & Martin Garrix to name a few) it’s safe to say that Grum’s year to date has been nothing short of amazing.
“Straight To Your Heart” is what progressive music is all about! Gradual builds, beautiful melodies and packed full of emotion. Grum’s use of the piano in his carefully constructed chords is something to truly admire, keeping the sound of the summer very apparent. A soul searching bass line and euphorically perfect vocal cuts really take this track to a new level.
One of the most consistent and prolific remixers around, Grum is fast becoming the go-to remixer/producer who's influences go from electro and disco house through to most recently 90's, progressive and tech house.
Grum's debut album, Heartbeats, was released in May 2010. A confident debut record, inspired by 1980s disco, it has been compared to Daft Punk's Discovery and Mylo's Destroy Rock & Roll. The song "Turn It Up" was picked as single of the week by iTunes and his debut single 'Heartbeats' gained extensive radio play world-wide. Grum's first two music videos from Heartbeats, "Can't Shake This Feeling" and "Through The Night", were shot in Los Angeles, California and directed by The General Assembly. Grum's single "Heartbeats" was featured in the video game Saints Row: The Third in 2011.
