British Council eTwinning project: eTwinning is sharing, inclusion SEN, Ysgol Hendre, Wales.

    Overview:
This project was a collaborative effort between four partner schools in three countries: the UK, France and the Czech Republic. Students participated in a range of activities through the Twinspace platform, including creating digital avatars for themselves, writing posts about things they liked, learning coding skills to create games which their peers could play and comment upon online.

    The project demonstrates how eTwinning:

    1. encouraged pupils to work collaboratively by sharing work on their common interests with students at partner schools via a ‘Kidblog’ blog set up between the three schools, and the online Twinspace.

    2. created an inclusive environment, with students who have additional learning needs, where pupils with additional learning needs can work alongside their mainstream peers.

    3. improved literacy through the use of innovative ICT tools, which lay at the heart of this project, together with opening up new channels of social communication between students from different countries.

The project was awarded an eTwinning National Quality Label by the British Council for ‘Digital literacy’ at the 11th annual eTwinning UK conference in 2016.
