“And that’s when it all started.” Worm continues slowly, solemnly, and with long pauses. “People went crazy. Everything was destroyed. There were no rules, no compass, and no order. And when the food ran out … well, let’s just say it was ugly. Do you know what a cannibal is? They eat flesh. And the fallout turned their eyes crazy. Wheelie got me and Nobbie out of there. There were lines of people wading through the debris and destruction. They were leaving the city … and the dead. But there was nothing left. Some kept looking for their loved ones. Others couldn’t even accept it! I saw one guy waiting for the bus … everyday. He’s gone now. The world ended that day. Everyone lost a friend. That’s when … the world and their dreams all STOPPED, when everyone STOPPED going to work, [EMOTIONAL] STOPPED going to school. Everyone … just lost. No more supermarkets, radio stations … graduations. And now … [EMPHASIS] WE can’t stop. The infected keep spreading and taking what little space we have left … and us? We’re all we got.” Worm snaps out of her mood. “Come on, it’s getting late we have to bunker.”
Worm gets up. The children begin to move and leave the area as the camera fades.
