Break open the strawberries and watch all the live action from Centre Court at the tennis screenings from 29 June to 12 July for free. Tennis isn't the only delight available on the big screen this summer as there is a selection of film screenings for you to enjoy with ‘Pictures in the Park’ including, Amélie, Mamma Mia and Shaun the Sheep: The Movie.
Colchester Film Festival presents 'Unseen Cinema' every month in Firstsite's state of the art auditorium. Each screening will be a taste of the very best feature films that didn't make it into your local multiplex and a short film from previous Colchester Film Festivals.
Colchester Film Festival (22nd-26th Oct 2014) is an international film festival dedicated to discovering and showcasing the best filmmaking talent from the UK and around the world.
This year's festival will be held from the 22nd - 26th of October 2014 at the Firstsite Visual Arts Gallery in Colchester.
The festival showcases the best new short and feature films from the UK and around the world as well as offering a programme of workshops, master classes and panel discussions from top film industry professionals.
Short and Feature film submissions for this year's festival are open from the 1st February - 1st July 2014 and it's completely FREE to submit your film.
Previous festivals have showcased an amazing selection of films from all around the world, from first time to Oscar nominated filmmakers. Alongside the films we've featured workshops, master classes and panel discussion from BAFTA and Oscar winning filmmakers.
Colchester Film Festival 2012 showcased 41 of the best short films from 13 different countries, from first time filmmakers to Oscar nominated short films as well as giving local filmmakers a chance to showcase their own films on the big screen.
Alongside the films there were film related workshops, master classes and panel discussion from Luke Snellin (BAFTA Nominated Director of 'Mixtape'), Julian Unthank (writer of the Oscar Nominated 'Love at First Sight'), Steven Hall (Credits include: 'War Horse', 'Gladiator' and 'Batman Begins), John Wrathall (writer of Good), Matthew McGuchan (Writer of Truth or Dare), Peter Findley (Production Designer: Nine), Toby Roberts, Will Wright and Emma Curtis.
The festival also included Kids Workshops from Signals Media, Actors Workshops from the Page UK, Artists films and installations from The Minories, Street Theatre from the Mercury, Live music and poetry from local performers, Cycle-In cinema and much more.

The film line-up starts at 6pm on Friday 3 July with Amélie. Mamma Mia will be on the big screen on Saturday 4 July, 6pm and bring the little ones to watch the popular 2015 Shaun the Sheep: The Movie on Sunday 6 July at 1pm.
This event has been put together by Colchester Borough Council and supported by Colchester Film Festival and the Colchester School of Art.
