"Impedimenta" blends sculpture, performance, fashion, camp and still photography to tell a story about the homoerotics of bitterness and power.
Some costumes, props and set pieces are made from journal pages that have been sewn together or rolled and baled with telephone wire.
The masks (inspired by Sadie Benning's work - thank you, Julia Zay!) are made from secondhand purses.
The crown in the final scene is made from antique cattle fencing found in the forest.

Special thanks to Majo for listening to my artist freakouts and of course to Luke for being my everything and for carrying weird objects for me in the hot sun (and for permanently putting up with my artist freakouts.)
