Recognized worldwide, the French restaurant Buddha Bar became notorious not only for its cookery, but also for the sounds that compose its ambient soundtrack: ethnic music with oriental flourishes and electronic grooves, in an exotic and irresistible combination. Following the path of other famous bars, e.g. Café del Mar in Ibiza, a series of compilations were produced with this musical style, which was a huge success all over the world. Azul Music's Buddha Lounge collection brings together the music of artists including Alberto Marsicano, Danilo Tomic (on the shakuhachi -- a Japanese bamboo flute), Gallo, Corciolli, Ratnabali, Dopler, Edson X, Ma3, Aura, & much more.
