Established in 2006 by polar explorer Will Steger, the Will Steger Foundation (WSF) educates and empowers people to engage in solutions to climate change.
The Will Steger Foundation's unique story stems from our founder, Will Steger, a recognized authority on the Polar Regions and an eyewitness to the effects of climate change. Will has spent more than 50 years traveling through the Polar Regions, advocating for the Earth's preservation and advising on permanent solutions to climate change. His compelling eyewitness account of the consequences of a warming world in the Arctic and Antarctic has engaged thousands of people in the issue and solutions. It is Will's historical achievements as an explorer, educator and advocate that has shaped the Will Steger Foundation's programming and provides critical access to decision-makers.
Building on the experience of our founder, Will Steger, polar explorer, science educator, and advocate, the Will Steger Foundation strategically engages and empowers emerging youth leaders and educators across the Midwest and beyond for innovative climate change solutions.
Since 2011, the Will Steger Foundation has received the Charities Review Council Meets Standards seal for accountability practices and is accomplishing a great deal with lean operations. Our programs operate across Minnesota and the Midwest, with national and international implications.
