Thank you to everyone involved in the making this video!
V.E. recorded “Gold” last summer for the Mash Notes Vol. 1 project put together by Paul Ivey and Brain Duv. The video was shot in July at Pocahontas State Park. For the video, I had a few moments where I felt like I was in over my head but I learned a lot by going through the process.
Thank you to Mark Mervis, without whom neither the idea for the video nor the actual video would have happened. This was as much his project as it was mine. That you to Mervis’ crew: Rinny Wilson 1st AC, Brandon Eastman 2nd AC, Rob Vaughan Key Grip.
Thank you to Allie Smith for directing and for being the actively chill presence that she is.
Thanks to Park Manager Joshua Ellington for scouting locations with us and to Pocahontas State Park for allowing us to film there. Thanks to all the riders who took their horses through the woods to avoid riding through the shoot.
Thank you to Lee for being the driver. Thank you to my friends that ran all those takes in 100 degree heat: Kyle, Courtney Hans, Luke Rhodes, John Snouffer, David Dodson and Kate.
Thank you to Coldon Martin for being a sounding board and sanity check through the process.
Filmed in Panavision. Processing by Colorlab. DI Coloring by MadBox (Thank you Madbox folks!).
