In 2007, WINGS of Hope was formed by Leigh, Lesley, Maria, Karen-Lee and Cindy. At least 6* people die by suicide in Australia every day. It is estimated that more than 13,000 people are bereaved by suicide every year. When a person is bereaved by suicide they can be at risk of suicidality themselves. This is not always the case for each individual, but often the grief is more intense and complicated than many other forms of grief. Support is available. Visit urgent help tab on our website. Postvention is the supports and interventions after a suicide loss. WINGS of Hope is the one of the few postvention organisations free from political, religious, spiritual or other governance, run by bereaved people for those bereaved by suicide.
