First held in 1994, Viva Brasil aims to be Amsterdam’s top summer music festival, with a rich, three-day programme of performances at several locations in Amsterdam. A trend-setting, perennial public event, Viva Brasil Festival sets out to put on an innovative programme of music reflecting the breadth of Brazil’s artistic and cultural expression.

Viva Brasil seeks to build a bridge between Brazil and the Europe by making a programme of high-quality events accessible and visible to a broad public. The festival is a platform for encounter and exchange – both on stage and off. The Football World Cup in 2014 and the Olympic Games in 2016 are big upcoming events, but ongoing cultural developments in Brazil are also gaining global attention.
