Children in remote, rural areas of Africa with no access to transport have no hope of getting to clinics to receive basic services like vaccinations. They rely on health workers being able to reach them. Some communities may have as few as 10 people. Villages could be up to 30km apart. The majority of the journey may be made on a dirt road that pushes even 4x4s to the limit. Conditions like these would tax even the most experienced and well resourced transport operator. You can understand why, without expertise in areas like scheduling and planned preventive maintenance, the system fails and people miss out on basic healthcare. Your support will help to keep health workers moving by providing them with the knowledge and skills to be in the right place, in the right vehicle, at the right time.
