At the Citywide Council of Special Education 3.15.18 meeting, parents of twice-exceptional (2e) students organized a group to speak to the council and Christina Foti, Chief Executive Director, Division of Specialized Instruction and Student Support, Special Education Office, NYC DOE. It was a great meeting, nine parents of 2e children were in attendance. The parents were invited to meet with Director Foti at a later date.
Assistive Tech isn't really "assistive" rather.. it's life-changing, playing field-leveling tech. They don't replace instruction but when used properly, it can make a kid so much more independent! Woo hoo!!!!!
