Genesis 2:9 KJV And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
The two trees that they would see more than any other, just by the law of averages because of its location
One is a tree of life; one is a tree of death
God gives man choice because He wants His creation to choose Him
There is no love without a choice!
If God gave man no choice, then the genuiness of man’s love for God would be in question.
Man’s love would be out of fear and duty, and not an un-coerced free will…therefore it is not really love
Just like this man that was kidnapped this week and his captors were trying to force him to curse the president-elect – even if he did, does that mean he meant it from the heart? No
When you take away all of man’s options except one, it is no longer freedom and God never does that
Having a choice is not bad…in fact it is very good!
Notice Who made the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil: God
Everything God made is good… He even said so Himself in Gen_1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
Was that tree God made tempting them with evil? NO! Jas 1:13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:
So what was that tree there for? To give man a free choice, to obey or disobey.
…that was the only prohibition God had – the ONLY LAW!
The tree gave man the ability to have faith in God…”All I need is God, not what is on that tree; I trust He knows what is best for me” vs. what the devil tempted man with: God is holding back on you – there’s more
The property of the fruit was not evil in itself
What was important was the Command of God not to eat it and the transgressing of that Command…
A & E crossed a line from which there is no return
Just as man has a choice today in this life, But once you leave this life, there is no returning to choose over…so choose Jesus today!

Gen 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil [cunning; crafty] than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
This tree was no temptation at all until the devil brought it to mind
Adam and Eve simply believed God was telling the Truth when He said, “You shall surely die…”
Not until A & E started thinking on the thoughts did it become a temptation…same with you
    Having a choice is not a temptation – only when the desire begins does it become a temptation;
all desire starts with thinking about it
James 1:14-15 KJV But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust [desire] and enticed. (15) Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
“His own lust” – not the devil’s lust, not someone else’s lust; when you move from thoughts to desires, it has gotten into your HEART!
THEN, AND ONLY THEN, CAN YOU BE TEMPTED!
When that Chocolate cake “looks good” it is in your thoughts…but keep thinking those thoughts too long and it will move from “looking good” to desire “I’ve got to have some.”
When it moves from “She looks good .” To “I want her” it has gotten into your heart
The more you think about how she looks, the more you move toward a desire for her.
All temptation starts with thoughts (The HEAD) desires (THE HEART) temptation sin death
Once it drops into your heart, this is the source of addiction

Gen 3:2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
Gen 3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. Show less
