The Four Bags are a distinctive quartet that blends trombone (Brian Drye), accordion (Jacob Garchik), guitar (Sean Moran) and woodwinds (Mike McGinnis) creating a repertoire that combines the vibrancy of modern jazz and popular music with the sophistication of a classical chamber group. Each member composes pieces for the ensemble, drawing on a wide range of cultural and musical influences to create a uniquely American sound. Their most recent album includes original compositions with references to Wayne Shorter and Southern rock as well as their spin on Iranian classical music, Brazilian Forro, and French electronica. The result is "wonderfully difficult to define, easy to enjoy." (David Garland, WNYC).
