– Franciscan St. Francis Health-Indianapolis is a recipient of the Healthgrades 2015 America’s 100 Best Hospitals™ Award. It is also ranked among the top two percent of the nation’s 4,500 hospitals for overall heart care, critical care and overall clinical excellence, and was the only hospital in Indiana to receive all three distinctions.
“This recognition of our hospital clearly shows it is among the very best-performing hospitals across the nation,” said Robert J. Brody, president and CEO for Franciscan St. Francis Health. “It also demonstrates the depth of commitment of our clinicians and support staff who work hard to ensure our patients have the highest level of health care possible.”
This is the first year Franciscan St. Francis Health-Indianapolis has received the Healthgrades America’s 100 Best Hospitals™ Award. This award is given to hospitals that have received the Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence™ for four consecutive years. Healthgrades is an online resource providing information about physicians and hospitals.
As a group, recipients had a 26.4 percent lower risk-adjusted mortality rate across 19 procedures and conditions compared to all other hospitals. For example, according to Healthgrades, patients treated at a hospital receiving the award had, on average, a 29.3 percent lower risk of dying from heart failure than if treated at a hospital that did not receive the award.
