Last fall, voters in South Carolina chose Molly Spearman to be the new Superintendent of Education. As a former music teacher, assistant principal, legislator and statewide education administrator, Molly comes to the job with a wealth of experience. Carolina Classrooms is ETV’s new monthly educational series for teachers, parents and all citizens invested in the education of our children. Each program focuses on key educational topics and initiatives in our state. From addressing ways to make higher education more affordable to preparing students for 21st century careers; from looking at statewide assessments to celebrating our best South Carolina educators; from learning about early literacy programs to seeing the integration of new technologies in the classroom, Carolina Classrooms provides a forum for education stakeholders to learn and be involved. Some programs feature video segments provided by teachers to showcase how they are engaging students with their future! And, viewer questions ahead of each program are encouraged. Making It Grow! is a live, interactive call-in program produced by ETV and Clemson University. Host Amanda McNulty from Clemson Extension along with Clemson Extension Resource Agent Terasa Young and featured guests including Dr. John Nelson from the USC Herbarium focus on gardening topics, while highlighting interesting places and products from around the state.
