NSC Executive Director Andy Van Kleunen moderated this panel at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's September 2013 event Connecting the Dots: Education, Policy, Workforce. Panelists discuss active strategies that aim to help close the skills gap. Chamber and business leaders discuss how their respective organizations are working to address these issues and how their efforts can be amplified.
Skills2Compete is a non-partisan campaign to ensure our workforce has skills needed to meet business demand, foster innovation, and grow broadly shared prosperity. We encourage America to address U.S. competitiveness in a way that includes the vast majority of Americas future workers—that is, adults already in the workforce—and the largest portion of jobs in the U.S. economy—that is, jobs in the middle of the skilled labor market which require some training past high school, but not a four-year degree.
