Thanks for the response. What a great experience! Swimming in the Salish Sea usually involves a wet suit, but I'll still have to try that sometime when I find a smack of moon jellies. My understanding is moon jellies have very little if any sting for a human but that every now and again a person will have a reaction to their sting. Aside from the nettle-like sting of the lions mane, the jellies in the part of the world are pretty benign.
Awesome smack of jellies! Thanks for sharing. If you have the date and location, consider submitting it to the citizen science site jellywatch. Check the identification though. These look like mostly cross jellies (Mitrocoma cellularia). Keep up the great work!
