Maybe race is not an issue in this one but I thought the title was funny and i saw an article for 'Voice' entitled the same.
Where: London, A406 Coppetts Close, N11
Who: Metropolitan Police - 2 Area TSG (Tactical Support Group)
Why: 'Random' Check to prove I was Insured.
Maybe race is not an issue in this one but I thought the title was funny and some could say I'm being 'cheeky' or 'arrogant' but this was my first time recording the police and getting 'away' with it.
The incident lasted a total of 60+ mins but i have shortened it.
I was driving along the A406 heading north towards Wood Green, a Riot van flashed behind me and I knew they wanted me to pull over. When I did pull over they wanted to check for insurance details, valid drivers license etc. They asked me if i would like to join them on the pavement to which i asked 'Am i obliged' and you can clearly see them dodging the question.
Under section 163 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 officers are within legal right to stop any vehicle, however the owner does not have to leave the vehicle which is the point i was trying to make. They ask you in different way to make it seem like you have to exit the vehicle but you don't.
I never once left the vehicle, I showed them my full UK Drivers license and insurance documents by placing them up to the window of the drivers side of the car.
Seeing that the officer was obviously not happy with the fact I didn't want to leave the vehicle so he could search me or whatever, he ended up checking one of my tires and saying it had a 'bulge' which he is giving me 3 points on my CLEAN driving license and £100 fixed penalty notice.
