This peice is epic.
At 8:00 Qd8 and back-rank mate
I didn't give you a thumbs down, I gave you a thumbs up but this was a very nice game by both of you and his tactics kept surprising you and saving him, with the game always being interesting. So that sentence was simply not true.
Akaba is the pronunciation of Aqaba (the Jordanian city on the coast of the red sea)
Thank you. I perfectly understand that and agree. What I'm pointing out is the crucial distinct difference between 1: pain and value not being separately existing phenomenon, and 2: the words 'pain' and 'value' having conventional meaning not being a separately existing phenomenon. The second is in fact one specific case of the first, the FIRST being that which W.L.C and Inmandham are ignoring. The misconceptions of language which come with this fallacy are more subtle and are another story.
And they don't stone "sinners" to death or execute them in any manner either
This was great fun, thank you!
It's really nice that at 6:34 you saw that Bg5 leads to Bh6 and Bg7-mate without the queen AND that it's on even if the 5th rank will be opened on the very next move!
Please play the video, press on this: 7:26 and LISTEN to what he was SAYING. He said that IF his opponent would play Kd5 he would take a5 with the knight - missing the decisive Nb6 fork. This misunderstanding on your part is a bit strange also because IF his opponent had played Kd5, Then I wouldn't even have mentioned that move, only that he missed the fork AND I wouldn't have said "...you Would have had..." Which indicates that it did NOT happen. It's OK though, thanks :)
You just stated the Negative Theology position. Predominately two types of people would find it appealing: Those who are compelled to be religiously devout but equally cannot philosophically, rationally justify this devotion. And: Those who cannot bare the fact that "God" basically means "the only true responsible, capable adult who knows we're always on the right and the others are always wrong, and who will forcefully act on this". Very hard for some of us to accept that this is what's meant.
Yes, I must apologize and admit I was wrong about your stance on the matter. Thing is that in a past exchange with BionicDance she said to me exactly what you did to Mat about reluctance to accept new definitions, only she DID say that from the stance that hers was the ONLY "accurate", "true" definition, the others being "false". Then she proceeded to tell me that I don't understand how etymology works and how language relates to thought. When I saw you're comment I automatically jumped. Sorry.
There is no correlation - positive or negative - between the validity of the two arguments. Both arguments are independently unsound. The teleological is a special pleading wherein one claims that the lottery results were fine-tuned for them to win because, well, it's THEY who won. The second farce includes a notion that something which either NECESSARILY exists or CAN NOT exist at EVERY "possible world", can "possibly" exist in some "possible world" and does not either NECESSARILY exist or NOT.
10....c6 was maby a mouse-slip? ;)
This is the second game you bring of Tarrasch against the french defence in which he didn't play the Tarrasch variation (3.Nd2). What, they called it the Tarrasch because he never played it? ;)
What the...Tarrasch didn't play the 3.Nd2 "Tarrasch" ?!
I think it's important to remember that there are also not mating and not winning a piece/exchange blunders. Maybe a basic attitude is to first choose a move and then stop, and say "wait, so how is this a blunder?"
Found it! It's Christiane Jaccottet. I share your enthusiasm for her playing.
There is a misconception that I would be happy if you, among others would help to put to an end by making a video about. Both the superstitious and their critics share the misconceived figure of speech: "the bible says" (or any revered ancient scripture of any belief system). In fact, it's their very ambiguousness which makes these texts the material of religious demagogy. They were hardly straight forward even for people who spoke their ORIGINAL languages AT THE TIME of their formation.
In the second game the men had a forced mate at 14:51 with going with the rook Ra6 or Rb6 and the "step-ladder" double rook mate cannot be stopped. Gata Kamsky blundered (on purpose? ) and Gawain Joens - who set up the mate was duly disappointed.
Haha, the looping line animation concept was made for this one ;)
See, if you know your science you know there's specifically the Christian god with Jesus and what not. Unlike those ignorant atheists who will get what's coming to them for not being quite as erudite, rational, clever and generally intelligent as all of us, scientists, philosophers, logicians, metaphyscians/theologians theists. Cum Sancto Spiritu in gloria Dei Patris. Amen.
I like how this also unfolds in variation form with the animatin so far. Of course, it would be an exageration to expect this to continue throughout the entire 1+30 variations piece.
