PROGRAMMING NOTE: We understand our modified format appears unorthodox. In the fall of 2013, the network cut our budget in half and we faced a tough decision: end our award-winning broadcast after 31 years, or find creative ways to stay on the air.
We decided to forge ahead. Unfortunately the only way to meet the new budget requirements was to cut field team coverage entirely from our broadcast. In its place, Sagar Bhatt himself has volunteered to re-enact the news stories. While our production quality doesn't quite match a hollywood studio, you can rest assured that these depictions are thoroughly researched by our reporters. Ultimately what started as a limitation has become our competitive advantage. While the other networks can offer after-the-fact interviews and location shots, only Newswatch 9 illustrates the actual events as they unfolded.
We owe Mr. Bhatt a heartfelt thank you. Because of his dedication to quality journalism, we remain on the air.
