This video shows how aerial thermography is performed above the rooftops of a city. Here, the optris PI LightWeight infrared camera system is mounted on a multicopter. The beauty of this system lies in the fact, that the captured data is radiometric. This means that the temperature data of every single pixel in the picture can be analyzed. Also, there is a hot/cold spot detection, which automatically finds and displays the hottest/coldest pixel in the picture. The flight thermography system finds use in quality and maintenance inspections of solar parks, wind power systems and also in thermographic surveys of buildings. Further fields of application, where the PI Light'Weight is being used are security and surveillance, animal rescue and general presence detection.
