HORROR, FANTASY, DRAMA - Everything has its beginning. Weaving elements of Horror, Fantasy and Drama OKORA: THE PRELUDE focuses on seven young people - Drew, Tammy, Kaya, Theo, Sam, Shaun and Jimmy who share a past mysteriously connected to the Seven Deadly Sins. Encouragement and hope comes in the form of Tahani a strange young girl with a story to tell.
STATEMENT: Making this film has been a major eye opening, successful evolutionary experience. This time 3 years ago we were finishing all the planning, beginning to fundraise, finishing the casting process and getting ready to film our first self funded segment for character Shaun... Fast forward filming another two self funded character segments, and into the summer shooting re-commenced with the rest of our budget and we shot the film within a five day period, with the editing beginning as each scene was shot.
We've gone through re-shoots, last minute cast swaps, location issues, scene re-writes (in the same week as filming), additional scenes written and shot, at least 3 design concepts of each vfx shot, the entire sound was also rebuilt from scratch.
It's been a mammoth journey - epic in every way and the entire team has shown immense growth and expanded massively. The team would like to sincerely thank all our cast members, our funders, people who contributed their time, people who offered advice, The You-Tubers who kindly gave us rights to use their amazing, independently produced tracks to make up the films soundtrack. Without any of these elements all existing together, communicating and supporting us we wouldn't be here today.. We finally present Okora: The Prelude, an odd, unconventional conceptual ensemble piece featuring some superb upcoming UK talent.. The prelude is neither a beginning nor an end (or it's a testament of talent and storytelling.
