Lil Buck teams up with LoJoWerkz to launch their T21 Project. This is an excerpt of a performance commemorating Black Wall Street and the Tragedy of the Tulsa Race Riot of 1921, performed on the anniversary of the Riot (May 31st) on the historic grounds where the events took place.
T21 is a multi-faceted, multi-year project from Tulsa-based LoJoWERKz PRODUCTIONS fashioned around the rich, historic tapestry of Tulsa's Jazz Age. With Street Dance as a jumping off place, T21 includes Dance Workshops, the production of Dance Films, and Live Performances, all with the purpose of promoting a racially-healing journey through Tulsa's Past, Present & Future!
The event excerpted here is from the inaugural performance of the T21 project. It features a suite of music from the first T21 Stage Show, "Uncommon Ground" which will hit the Tulsa stage on June 27th. Lil Buck and Hampton "Xcercist" Williams conducted the first annual T21 Workshop on the morning of May 31st and joined the "Uncommon Ground" cast that evening for Oilhouse's "1921 Tulsa Race Riot Memorial Performing Arts Showcase." for this preview. To round out the events launched this year, on the previous day Lil Buck jumped into principal photography on our first T21 Short Film, "HotFoot," which is slated for release during the next year's T21 events!
