A cover of a cover probably makes it an eiderdown. This is an attempt at John Martyn's arrangement of a tradional song from the States. Not sure about the origin, but thanks to Ian I heard about this version by John Martyn. Ian has done a beautiful cover in standard tuning. I've tried it in dropped D (DADGBE). I think I'm throwing in a D/C chord from time to time which probably shouldn't be there. There's a lovely opening sequence which I've tried in 2 different positions - on the 5th fret (555755) chord with a flick on the 2nd string 7th fret and during the break I do it as a D shape but rather mess it up, there's a stretch up to the A on the top string, 5th fret, which is quite tricky. Then guitar part starts rather like Golden Girl. There are, I think 3 G major chord D6 as above, 555030 and G/B.
