This is an explanation as to why I am "The Worst Token Black Chick Anywhere."
This song is meant to be a comedic commentary on society's view of Blackness. I love who I am and where I come from. What I don't love, are some of the stereotypes and preconceived notions about Black people that tend to get exploited in pop-culture. This inadvertently leads to real life stereotyping which is annoying at best and detrimental to the fabric of a society and a psyche at its worst.
I hope this makes you laugh or at least chuckle a bit. I also hope it demonstrates how there is so much more to a person than the stereotypes society prescribes to them! Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy it!
P.S. The information provided in the lyrics to this parody are all true. I have basic rhythm but am not a great dancer. I am mediocre at sports. I don't know or use much slang in my day to day interactions. I get annoyed when I meet people who either think it's funny or think that they will get cool points by referring to me as "Guurrrrrrrrlllllll" while they try to mimic how they presume Black people speak. My mom really is French and Italian and she sent me to private schools for my whole life. Oh, and my friends (of all races and backgrounds) often joke with me about how ridiculously whack I am lol.
Shout out to Will Smith and Jeffrey Townes for the amazing beat which inspired me to write this parody. Thanks to ProSound music for getting me the audio! Thanks to Brooklyn Brewery Studio for an awesome vocal recording session. Thanks to Simba productions for filming and editing the video. All last but not least, thank you to my friends Sanja, Cliff, Eda, Chris, Ashley, Ariella, Kayla, Erica and Raven for acting in this ridiculous video idea I had. I love you all.
