Five visionary leaders were inducted into the Washington Business Hall of Fame on December 4, 2012 by co-founding organizations Junior Achievement of Greater Washington, The Washingtonian, and the Greater Washington Board of Trade.
The Hall of Fame recognizes outstanding business and community leadership over a career span of service in Greater Washington. The annual event was attended by over 1,200 people at the Washington Hilton; proceeds benefited Junior Achievement's mission to empower young people to own their economic success.

Junior Achievement annually holds the Greater Washington Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Competition, sponsored by Ernst & Young, which recognizes young people in Greater Washington who have best embraced the entrepreneurial spirit. The competition is open to any student in the 9th-12th grade who has started and is currently running his or her own business.
