If those Hollywood bigwigs ever wanted to make a movie about Film Gumbo then this is the soundtrack I would insist on, not that those coke-snortin', whore-fuckers would listen to reason. Scumbags.
Every song is taken from one of my favourite films or TV shows, with the exception of Bonnie Prince Billy and Matt Sweeney's 'Blood Embrace,' which features dialogue from John Flynn's 1977 corker, Rolling Thunder. Also, 'I Don't Want to Set the World on Fire' and 'Way Down in the Hole' aren't the original versions from the films.
After receiving some sterling feedback for Film Gumbo: The Soundtrack (now 'Part 1', but not in a repulsive, money-milking Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows-esque way), I thought it'd be a good idea to get another compilation out there. As before, all the music is from my favourite films and TV shows.
Replay the ones you love and skip the ones you don't.
Confession time: The Modern Lovers' "Roadrunner" isn't the original version from The Wire, but this Velvet Underground-inspired take is so much better - like a cleaner version of "Sister Ray".
