Described by one music journalist as an "epic, more Bluegrass-folk Bon Iver crossed with the Underground Railroad gone Portland", the band was born of songstress Alixandra Macmillan-Fiedel's quest to expand her sound. With members Kevin Evans, Christopher Norlinger, Emma Huston, and Chris Stansell, the group quickly gained warm reception with local crowds and was named 2011's Best New Area Band by SB Independent Pop Culture Editor, Aly Comingore. After further months of frequent shows in Santa Barbara and Los Angeles, "winning over crowds in and outside of their hometown" (Comingore), Ghost Tiger was forced to take a break as Alixandra recovered from jaw surgery.

Recently roaring out of hibernation with new songs and ambitions, Ghost Tiger is excited about the near future, with more shows, a tour, and recording in the works.
