Duke University Chapel has three outstanding pipe organs, each in a different style, which are used for worship services, recitals and the study of organ performance. In this video, organ curator John P. Santoianni demonstrates how one of those instruments -- the Flentrop or Benjamin N. Duke Memorial Organ -- creates its wide range of sounds. Santoianni is Duke’s Ethel Sieck Carrabina Curator of Organs and Harpsichords. To learn more about organ music at Duke Chapel visit http://chapel.duke.edu/wors....

The service of Choral Evensong lasts approximately one hour, and derives from the medieval church, offered at Duke Chapel in classical form from the 1662 Book of Common Prayer of the Church of England, which sought to harmonize Catholic and Protestant traditions.
