I wanted to talk about this in episode 72, but I realized this topic deserved it's own video. Is there truly a link between being vitamin D deficient & diabetes? Why are so many African Americans deficient in this vitamin? How important is vitamin D? Is it worth taking D supplements?
It is extremely rare to find videos of African American type 1's. I think this largely has to do with 1: the shame associated with diabetes, and 2: the horrific stigma that people have, about people of color and diabetes.
Both sensitive and positive subjects are talked about in these videos. Again, some of these subjects are controversial, you may not like it, or agree with it; but these videos give you something to think about.
