I think that the scientist who conducted the study found the cameras on eBay and attached them to modified falcon hoods. You might be able to find more information at http://jeb.biologists.org/content/217/2/225.full
If you could get the falcons to hold the camera still, you'll really have something here! I'm kidding. But is there a way to locate the camera where there is less wing obstruction? Also a pipe dream of mine, fiber optic lens that would extend to the talons so you could see the capture?
Fascinating! My daughter and I moved to New Hampshire, but in doing so I lost about 25K a year in income. My point is we aren't living on a farm or even in a house of our own where we can have animals, but when we get there one day I would Love to befriend a Falcon. I hunted and fished my whole life, but gave it up years back. This video portrays the real hunt and the unbelievable battle for survival. Crows are no small birds and a formidable adversary. When I was a kid I had one attack me in the woods. I'm pretty good with animals and have trained my past dogs to be very disciplined. A Falcon would seem to be quiet the challenge. Thanks for sharing. Great shots by the way!
