  • OUAT | Robin & Regina - Whispers

So I actually started this a few months ago and then life caught up to me. Anyway, I've been mercilessly tweaking it here & there for ages so I just decided to finally let let it be.

Regina is my favorite character on OUAT and I'm very captivated by her backstory and early years. Her relationships with Cora and Leopold are by far my favorite to explore, even though the show doesn't really address them now that Cora's gone. Anyway, I think her history with these two characters really affects the way Regina feels about Robin. The comfort and safety she briefly felt in their relationship is underscored by the foundation of others manipulating her for their own gain. After being forced into a suffocating life, she finally fought her way back from the darkness to find a loving, gentle person who spoke to the helpless girl she used to be. Of course, she doesn't get to hold onto that though because this show loves to torture her. Naturally, I'm aware that Regina's done horrible things and horrible things being done to her doesn't really excuse it. I simply view Regina as a very broken character with many many layers and I'd like to see her find a way to heal. I think being with Robin finally let her feel like the truest version of herself - Regina before being married off to Leopold and before Cora tore her apart.

I realize that that's probably way more melodramatic information than anyone's going to read in the description, however that's what I was thinking about while making this video. The song is called "Whispers" by Dave Baxter and it's truly one of the most beautiful songs ever. Of course the second I heard it, I thought it fit perfectly with Outlaw Queen so ta da! Enjoy :)
