In 1928 Arthur Upfield, Australias premier crime writer, plotted the perfect murder for his novel The Sands of Windee. Meanwhile, one of his friends, stockman Snowy Rowles, put the scheme into deadly effect, even before the book was published. This true story resulted in one of Australias most sensational murder trials of the 1930s and catapulted Upfields name onto the world stage. A name that will sure to become the topic of conversation once again when 3 Acts of Murder premieres in Australia on Sunday 14 June at 8:30 pm on ABC1. The film was written by Ian David (Blue Murder), directed by Rowan Woods (The Boys), and produced by Sue Taylor (The Shark Net). Essentially the telemovie explores the culpability of the creator when a fictional crime becomes a fatal reality.
