Space Apps NYC 2016

In 2012, New York City became a founding site for the NASA Space Apps Challenge, a worldwide hackathon that has enabled historic global collaboration between volunteers, private companies, NGOs, and government agencies. Since then, our Space Apps NYC community has locally organized four events, and has hosted NASA's global mainstage for two years in a row. Our space hacker membership in 2016 reached over 1700 people!

For the 2nd annual space conference in 2016 (the day preceding the official NASA hackathon), we invited space scientists, researchers, and engineers; space tech VCs and investors, commercial space reps, corporate execs; city, state and federal officials; celebrities, astronauts, explorers, futurists; TV and film writers and authors, to discuss the future of space tech in New York City and across the planet. We are excited to have been able to bring such an awesome lineup of speakers and stakeholders here to explore new frontiers together with our space hacker community!
