US Open of Surfing Coverage

Over 1.5 million spectators travelled to Huntington Beach for the 2013 Vans US Open of Surfing, as the final moments gathered all eyes south side of the pier to watch the finals. As a stop on the ASP Women's World Tour, the US Open stands as an important event for competitors in the title race. Carissa Moore (HAW) defeated local favorite Courtney Conlogue (USA) in one of the greatest finals of the year. Alejo Muniz took home the win for Brazil in the Men's Prime event, the first Brazilian to ever win the US Open of Surfing as a WCT event. He defeated Californian local, Kolohe Andino, in an exciting final.

The 2012 Nike US Open of Surfing took place over the summer on a crowded Huntington Beach. The "Superbowl" of surfing welcomed over 700,000 fans throughout the week. Julian Wilson (AUS) and Lakey Peterson (USA) were the proud champions of the biggest show in surfing.
