On March 8, 2011 - when this interview was conducted by host Ronnie Eldridge of "Eldridge & Co." at City University of New York Television (CUNY TV) in New York City - Dr. Nawal El Saadawi was named one of the top 100 influential women in the world by The Guardian newspaper of London for International Women's Day. Dr. El Saadawi, 80, is an Egyptian doctor, psychiatrist, writer and feminist, jailed in 1981 and forced to flee her country in 1988, only to return to Tahrir Square to participate in the 2011 demonstrations that led to the ouster of President Hosni Mubarak.
