U.S. Senator Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) and Jay Timmons, Chief Executive Officer and President of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), received the 2014 Public Official and Business Citizen Award, respectively, by the Friends of Adam Smith Foundation and the Business-Industry Political Action Committee (BIPAC). The board of BIPAC, the largest national grassroots business network, and many of its members established the Friends of Adam Smith Foundation in November 2000 to highlight the role of business and business leadership in both the private sector and in government.

Senator Corker and Timmons accepted the honors on Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at the Andrew Mellon Auditorium in Washington, DC. They were recognized for their outstanding records of achievement in supporting and advancing the principles of free enterprise: free markets, low taxes, limited government, respect for private property, and the promotion of a stable economy. The Friends of Adam Smith Awards Dinner emphasized the pivotal role that free enterprise plays in America.
