West Coast Railway 'Super R' class

Videos of the two R class steam locomotives modified by West Coast Railway for use on the Saturday morning Melbourne to Warrambool passenger service.

These locomotives were modified with oil firing, power reversers, double lempor exhausts, etc... and painted in the company's distinctive blue, white and yellow livery.

R711 is now in the care of Steamrail Victoria while R766 was regauged to standard gauge for use in the Hunter Valley. Both have been converted back to standard R class configuration with the exception of retaining oil firing.
